This is a scenario, not a promise. The amount left excludes fixed overhead and tax. Repeat purchases are not included. Counts are expected averages, rounded for display; break-even clients round up.
Talk through my plan ↗The math, in plain sight.
- Marketing cost = monthly fee + leads × base lead cost × (1 + markup ÷ 100).
- Bookings = leads × booking rate. Visits = bookings × attendance rate.
- Paying clients = visits × purchase rate.
- Revenue = paying clients × average purchase revenue.
- After costs = revenue × service margin − marketing cost.
- Return on marketing cost = amount after costs ÷ marketing cost × 100.
- Break-even revenue = marketing cost ÷ service margin.
- Break-even clients = marketing cost ÷ (purchase revenue × service margin), rounded up.
- Highest base lead cost = (revenue after service costs − monthly fee) ÷ (leads × (1 + markup ÷ 100)).
Convert percentage inputs to decimals in these formulas. Break-even covers marketing and direct service costs, not fixed rent, other overhead or tax. Use a consistent monthly period and allow time for leads to book and buy.
For the starting example: 100 leads become 40 bookings, 30 visits and 15 paying clients. Revenue is $6,000. After $2,400 in service costs and $3,200 in marketing costs, $400 remains before fixed overhead and tax.
